First Baptist Church Core Beliefs

God 

We believe in one perfect, unchanging God, Creator of all, who loves everyone and draws us to new life.

Jesus

We believe that Jesus, God in human form, lived, died, and was resurrected to restore our relationship with God.

Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit lives within us, revealing God's will, and guiding and strengthening us in our journey. 

The Bible

We believe the Bible, God's inspired Word, teaches and encourages us to know God and live joyfully for him.

The Church

We believe God's Church unites all Christians in love, worship, service, and spiritual growth.

Discipleship

We believe discipleship is pursuing and modeling a Christ-like life to become more like him.

Humanity

We believe God created all people in love to reflect him and to live in unity with him. 

Outreach/Evangelism

We believe God sends us into the world to proclaim his love through our actions, attitudes and words.

Prayer

We believe faithful prayer connects us to God, and reveals God's power, guidance, and blessings.

Sin and Salvation

We believe sin separates us from God, but we are restored through faith in Jesus and his sacrifice.

Stewardship

We believe we are responsible to care for God's creation and use our personal resources to further God's kingdom.

Worship

We believe authentic worship honors and praises God for who he is and for his unfailing love.
